I received a review copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I also got a finished copy from Amazon whilst it was free.

I'm not a fan of the cover as I don't feel like it's in keeping with the actual story plus I don't feel as though this is what the characters would even wear. I don't like the blurriness in the actual image as it just doesn't look professional enough. I do however like the blurred in the title as it ties in with the story.

When I first started this book I did actually think that I was going to love it as it was addicting and intriguing, however the more I read the more I got fed up. I think what really put me off was the speed of everything that was happening which I think was due to the length of the book as it was a very short book so it felt like everything was getting crammed in, in a short space of time. I didn't feel like the romance side of the story was believable as it just happened far too quickly especially after that happened between the pair in the past, I also didn't really feel the chemistry although there was moments when I saw glimmers of something between them but not often enough. The ending was cute with everything cleared up (well to a point anyways).

I kind of liked the two main characters although both had their moments. April had moments when I liked her as she came across as a strong person but then the other times when I didn't like her was because she was too forgiving and easily led. Matthew for the most part I really liked as he wasn't like he was made out to be in the beginning. There was moments when I wasn't too happy with how he acted but I could also forgive him those moments especially when we find out about what had happened to him. I liked April's friends and Matthew's family. There was one character that I just couldn't warm to especially the more we find out about her the more I wanted to slap her.

Overall, not too bad of a book but it wasn't a long enough book for me to really fall in love with it which was a shame as I think it could've been a really good book if only it was longer.

Waiting on Wednesday - The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Here's this week's book that I can't wait for...

The Glittering Court (The Glittering Court, #1)
by Richelle Mead
Expected Publication: 5th April 2016

Synopsis:
A dazzling new fantasy series set in a mix of Elizabethan and frontier worlds that’s dripping with romance from Richelle Mead, #1 internationally bestselling author of Vampire Academy.
Big and sweeping, spanning the refined palaces of Osfrid to the gold dust and untamed forests of Adoria, The Glittering Court tells the story of Adelaide, an Osfridian countess who poses as her servant to escape an arranged marriage and start a new life in Adoria, the New World. But to do that, she must join the Glittering Court.
Both a school and a business venture, the Glittering Court is designed to transform impoverished girls into upper-class ladies capable of arranging powerful and wealthy marriages in the New World. Adelaide naturally excels in her training and even makes a few friends: the fiery former laundress Tamsin and the beautiful Sirminican refugee Mira. She manages to keep her true identity hidden from all but one: the intriguing Cedric Thorn, son of the wealthy proprietor of the Glittering Court.
When Adelaide discovers that Cedric is hiding a dangerous secret of his own, together, they hatch a scheme to make the best of Adelaide’s deception. Complications soon arise—first, as they cross the treacherous seas from Osfrid to Adoria, and later, when Adelaide catches the attention of a powerful governor.
But no complication will prove quite as daunting as the potent attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. An attraction that, if acted on, would scandalize the Glittering Court and make them both outcasts in wild, vastly uncharted lands. . . .

I haven't loved every book that I have read by Richelle Mead but this one sounds so good I'm very excited about starting this series.

If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.
...and it’s going to be oh so good.
All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

I've heard so many rave reviews for this book on Goodreads so I have been after it for a while so when it went down to 99p I bought it straight away. After reading The Deal I feel that all of those rave reviews wasn't wrong...

I do love this cover and not just because of the gorgeous torso (well it does help ;)) I think what I really like is the use of colours as black and white is always a favourite of mine especially in images but with the blue in the title makes the whole cover pop.

The Deal grabbed me from the very first page and never let go even when I finished the last page as it left me wanting even more. Even though there is similarities from other NA books there was things done differently that made it feel new to me. I loved the main storyline of the story with the whole deal that was made it made it a more interesting story and had me guessing what was going to happen next. I loved the relationship between the two main characters which I think was mainly down to the great banter that they had some of the things that was said made me laugh out loud. As well as great banter these two characters had smoking hot chemistry plus they brought out the best in each other. There was some serious issues tackled in this book and was done in a different way to what I'm used to, with what had happened with Hannah in the past was horrendous normally they would not want to do anything or be close to anyone but in this case it was more about her getting her life back and wanting to do so. The ending was great because it cleared everything up as the other books are going to be another couple so everything needed to be sorted out and that's what we got. I just hope we get to see more of these two characters in the next books because I already miss them plus I want to know how they are getting on.

I loved the characters in this book especially the two main characters. Hannah wasn't a weak character that let her past get the better of her, Hannah came across as a very strong person and didn't let anything get to her. There was times when she let people walk over her but not Garrett she always gave as good as she got. Garrett is one of my favourite ever male characters as he was so funny plus he showed a vulnerability as well. I loved the other guys in Garrett's team and I can't wait to see more from them.

Overall, this was a great read and I can't wait to read more from Elle Kennedy especially if this book is anything to go by.

Synopsis:The heart wants what it wants . . . and sometimes it wants something bad
While performing the greatest love story of all time, they discovered one of their own . . .
Cassie Taylor was just another acting student with big dreams at her prestigious performing arts college . . . then she met Ethan Holt. She was the good girl actress. He was the bad boy on campus. But one fated casting choice for Romeo and Juliet changed it all. Like the characters they were playing on stage, Cassie and Ethan's epic romance seemed destined. Until it ended in tragedy when he shattered her heart.
Now they've made it to Broadway where they're reunited as romantic leads once again - and their passionate scenes force them they're forced to confront the heartbreaking lows and pulse-pounding highs of their intense college affair. For Ethan, losing Cassie was his biggest regret - and he's determined to redeem himself. But for Cassie, even though Ethan was her first and only great love, he hurt her too much to ever be trusted again.
The trouble is, working with him again reminds her that people who rub each other the wrong way often make the best sparks. And when it comes to love, sometimes it's the things that aren't good for us that are the most irresistible.
Don't miss the intoxicating romance beloved by over two million fans online - a story that'll captivate you and hold you breathless until the final page.

I received a review copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I do like this cover but I do prefer the US cover loads more than this one as it stands out way more than this one does although I do feel like these two are Cassie and Ethan.

I have put this book off for a while now as I have seen so many mixed reviews that they kind of put me off, but I thought I'd give it a try and now I have mixed feelings about the book. It is a very addictive book as I always wanted to know what was going to happen next it always kept me guessing. I did like that it kept going back in time so I was able to get a better understanding of why Cassie was the way she was plus it was easy to follow as it told us at the beginning of each chapter when it was. With it being a mainly romance based book I was quite surprised by the lack of romance in both the past and present there was always just one that seemed interested. I think that maybe if it alternated points of view then maybe it would've been easier to see where Ethan was coming from and know how he was actually feeling. The ending was a huge cliffhanger and has made me want to continue just to see what happens next.

With the two main characters they seemed to have swapped personalities from the past and present. We started off in the present so Cassie seemed stand-offish especially towards Ethan but then when we go back we find her more willing to please everyone and loved Ethan even though he did nothing to deserve her love. Ethan starts of willing to do and say anything for Cassie in the present to the point he was an open book whereas in the past he shut everyone out and came across as not a nice person although there was a couple of glimmers of niceness but not enough in the past.

Overall it started off strong but I felt it dragged in the middle and could have come to an end a lot sooner than what it did do.

Waiting on Wednesday - Firstlife by Gena Showalter

Here's this week's book that I can't wait for...

Firstlife (Everlife, #1) by Gena Showalter

Synopsis:ONE CHOICE.
TWO REALMS.
NO SECOND CHANCE.
