Blurb from Goodreads:

Everything can change in an instant. Rob Ramirez thinks he's in love. Gabi Montoya is beautiful, smart, and maybe a little wild. But when Rob and Gabi skip out of school with two friends, the group makes a terrible mistake. Rob and his friends end up in a deadly accident, and suddenly Rob's world has changed. The girl of his dreams is even blaming him for what happened. Will Rob be able to deal with the pain?

I stumbled across this book on Netgalley and thought it sounded like something I would enjoy and for most part it was good I just felt it was a little too short to be as enjoyable as I thought it would be.

I do like the top half of the book as it is like a scene from the book but I think the bottom part of the cover isn't right for the story especially 'Surviving the South side' as it just doesn't feel like the right saying.

The beginning started of alright but not that interesting, it did pick up once the accident happened which then had me hooked. I loved the main point of the story as it showed that bad things can happen when drink driving. The ending wasn't that good as I felt there was some unanswered questions which was a shame as it could have been a much better book if they had been answered. I think that this book could have been better if it was maybe a 100 pages longer so things could have had more developments.

I didn't feel like there was enough character development. The main character Rob seemed like a nice guy and would do anything for his friends even if it was a bad thing. Rob seemed to be a bit of a doormat but towards the end he did grow a bit as he seemed to understand his part in the accident. We started of thinking Gabi was a nice girl but then all of sudden she changed and she changed even more once the accident happened and not in a good way, plus she never really took responsibility for her part in the story. As for the rest of the characters they seemed a bit pointless.

Overall this book showed a lot of promise but it just fell a bit short.
