Blurb from Goodreads:

Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?

Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves. Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

I had been after this book for awhile so imagine my delight when someone sent me a copy as a RAK, yet for some reason it took me awhile to read it but now I have I wish I had read it sooner.

I really like the cover in the way that it's all black and white apart from the heart as I feel you can can get a sense of what the book is about. Also I can imagine this cover as a part of a scene from the book which I love when that happens.

When I first started this book I wasn't quite sure I was going to like it as I wasn't too sure about Hadley but the more I read the more I could understand where she was coming from. I did find the relationship between Hadley and Oliver sweet to read about but I didn't feel as though it was a sizzling romance which I love to have in the contemporary romance books I read. I felt a lot of emotions when reading this book which did nearly have me in tears at one point but for the most part I felt it was sweet. This book wasn't just about love at first sight but also the relationship between a farther and daughter which I found a refreshing change. What I really enjoyed about this book was that it was set in 24 hours which I haven't read a book like that before but because of this I felt there was a few unanswered questions at the end of the book which was a shame.

As I said in the above character Hadley was one of the characters that I couldn't warm to at first but by the end she seemed like a sweet person who just had a few father issues. Oliver I felt was so sweet and caring although I didn't feel a huge love for him like I normally do with the male leads but I did really like him and I definitely felt for him towards the end.

Overall a very quick and enjoyable read but I didn't feel any spark there and I wish it wasn't a standalone book.

Changing Covers #14

Hi everyone welcome to my new weekly feature which all about covers that change either in the middle of the series or even when the series had finished. (The covers will mainly be UK changes but also from the USA.) I decided to do this feature as there has been so many cover changes it's hard to keep up.
I am not sure if anyone has done this particular feature so feel free to let me know so I can start linking it up to them. It is similar to other features that are out there but I'm hoping that this is different enough.

Marked by P.C & Kristin Cast

1st Edition                  2nd Edition                 3rd Edition

I think the 1st edition book is the hardback version and the second edition was the paperback. There may not be much of a change between the first and second edition covers but the subtle changes that have been used has improved the cover loads. Out of the first two I prefer the second one as I prefer the font and I love that the patterns are more noticeable. I also like the was the eye shines in the second cover as I think it really does capture me.
Just recently it had another cover change and to be honest with you I'm still not sure whether I like it I think I need to see it in person before I can make my mind up. I love the colour in the background and the way the title looks like it's shining. I'm not sure about the girl as I just don't think it looks right but I do like that she is in the shadows as I feel that is what the character feels like. I also like the way the title of the actual series has a moon around it.
Overall I think at the minute my favourite is the second edition book but this could change if and when I make my mind up on the third edition cover.

Whats everyone else's thoughts on these cover changes? Let me know in the comments below.

Book Review: The Vincent Boys (The Vincent Boys #1) by Abbi Glines

(Click image to take you to Goodreads)
Format: Paperback (arc)
Publishers: Hot Key Books
Published: 3rd January 2013
Pages: 257
Genre: YA/New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Main Characters: Ashton, Beau
Date Read: 16th February - 20th February 2013

Blurb from Goodreads:

Beau Vincent is rude, bad, and dangerous to know. So, why can’t good girl Ashton Gray keep away from him? She already has the perfect boyfriend – her town’s local Prince Charming, Sawyer Vincent. But Sawyer is away for the summer, and in the meantime Ashton is bored, and the head between her and Beau is undeniable – as well as irresistible. Ashton is about to unleash her bad girl – but what will she do when Sawyer comes home? And how will Sawyer react when he returns to find his girlfriend in the arms of his best friend – and cousin?

The Vincent Boys is a sexy, exciting and enjoyable romp through one steamy Alabama summer.

I have heard so many great things about Abbi Glines and I have slowly been getting her books. I am eternally grateful to Hot Key Books for sending me this book to review as I now know I need to hurry up and get every book by Abbi Glines.

There are quite a few different book covers for this series and to tell you the truth I love them all and I can't pick a favourite but I do like the guys in this cover especially the one in the vest.

From the moment I started this book I fell in love with the story and the characters. When reading the blurb I wasn't sure that this would be a storyline I could agree with but Glines really made me feel for the characters in a way that I understood where everyone was coming from. Usually I love a bit of action but the more Contemporary Romance books I read the more I don't feel like I need any action. The love story is so cute but at the same time sizzling hot and also heartbreaking and I loved every minute of it. The only thing about this book is that it is meant to be aimed at the YA audience but some of the content is far from YA but I really didn't mind this as I felt it was more believable than any other YA book.

As I said I love the characters especially Beau I just fell for him the very first second we met him. He is one of those lovable bad boys (although I wouldn't say he is that bad) who is in love with his cousin's girlfriend. He doesn't think he is good enough for her which makes me love him all the more. Ashton seemed like the good girl but she was hiding her inner bad girl and when she came out I found she was much more likable. With Sawyer I thought he was sweet to start with but he does do a few things that wasn't so sweet and made me go off him but in the end I understood where he was coming from.

Overall my first Abbi Glines book is one of my favourite books that I have read so far this year and I know it won't be my last. I can't wait to find out what Sawyer's book has in store for me and I hope we get to see more of Beau as I just love him.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

He looks down at her with his head tilted, his hand still firmly on her arm, and before she even fully realises what's happening, she hears him mutter, 'What the hell,' and then, to her surprise, he bends to kiss her. -Page 92

I am really enjoying this book it's so sweet and I can't wait to find out what is going to happen next.

The Deepest Cut (MacKinnon Curse #1) by J.A. Templeton

I waved back, never so relieved to see anyone. Maybe the ghost would leave- "Riiileeeey," came a chilling whisper in my ear. The breath lodged in my throat, and when I turned, the ghost was gone. - Page 49 Loc. 401-3 (Kindle)

I am loving this book at the moment and so far I would highly recommend it.

What is new adult and what books count for the challenge?

Kristan Hoffman, winner of the St. Martin's Press New Adult contest, was once quoted by Cally Jackson as saying:

“The Transition from child to adult doesn’t happen overnight--just ask as anyone who is or has been (or is a parent to) a teenager. But the transition from teen to adult doesn’t happen overnight either. There’s a period of time where adulthood feels like a new pair of shoes. The expectations of independence and self-sufficiency are still new, still being broken in. New Adults are the people who have just begun to walk in those shoes; New Adult fiction is about their blisters and aches.”

Cally Jackson’s post about “The Missing Genre” and Kristan Hoffman’s post for Writer's Digest "New Adult: What Is It" sum up nicely why we’re here--why we are writing New Adult fiction, and why we’re blogging about it. Because the genre is breaking in its new pair of shoes, too, and this blog is about those blisters, those aches, and ultimately, the successes that come with finding independence and self-sufficiency.

What age brackets to reach for: Books with protagonists in their late teens or early twenties (18-30 years of age) who are usually post-grads of high school and are living out in the adult world taking care of themselves. Generally, these are things to look for. Use the ages of 18 - 30 as a guideline. Everything else, just use your judgement!

What genres count: Any genre that falls into the age bracket and consists of new adult themes (ie college, first jobs, etc.) count. That means fantasy, dystopian, paranormal, contemporary, etc.

When does the challenge start and end? January 1, 2013 - December 31, 2013

I am going to try for Living on Your Own for now but I do hope that I can do more.

  1. All Over You by Emily Snow
  2. Last Bitten by Lauren Ash
  3. You'll Be Safe Here by Kristine Pierce

(Click image to take you to Goodreads)
Format: E-ARC
Publishers: Open Road Young Readers
Published: 22nd January 2013
Pages: 192
Genre: YA, Paranormal
Main Characters: Althea
Date Read: 12th February - 14th February 2013
Rating Given:

Warning: This book had a different name (The Cheerleader) which wasn't even the first in the series so I found it hard to find the information on the book so if any of the above information is wrong I apologise.

Blurb from Goodreads:

Cheerleaders are beautiful, popular and exciting - girls that Althea longs to be. But Althea is nobody - she gets no phone calls, shares no laughter and has no friends. Then one day she meets him, a vampire who offers to make her a cheerleader in exchange for a simple bargain.

While looking through the books on Netgalley I came across this book which I thought sounded interesting which it was it just wasn't as good as what I thought it would be.

The cover I think looks a little menacing but after looking through Goodreads and finding there was another cover which I thought looked better.

I found this book to be a bit shallow which made me not want to continue reading but the more I kept reading the more I found I couldn't stop reading it. I think the reason why I found it so addicting was that it was different to the other vampire books that I have read before. I didn't find anything believable as everything that Althea was experiencing was from what the vampire did which made me not trust anything that happened but there was times when I wanted to believe it. I would say there was a bit of romance but again it wasn't believable which was a shame as I thought they could have made a cute couple. I didn't really like the ending as I felt everything was left up in the air and even though this is a part of a series I don't think the next book will follow with Althea. I do think there is a message in the book though with the main message being be careful of what you wish as you just might get it.

Even though there was a few characters the only person we really got to know was Althea who at the beginning I didn't really like as she was far too shallow and changed her mind as soon as she got what she thought she wanted. It wasn't until the end when she grew on me as she seemed to have acquired a backbone by then. The only other person we kind of got to know was The Vampire as he was the one that made an offer to Althea that she couldn't refuse but I did think he was manipulative but that seems to be his nature preying on the vulnerable. The other characters where just apart of the manipulation so I couldn't say whether they where nice or not.

Overall it was an addicting book that made me want to find out what was going to happen next but I just wish is was more believable.

Changing Covers #13

Hi everyone welcome to my new weekly feature which all about covers that change either in the middle of the series or even when the series had finished. I am not sure if anyone has done this particular feature so feel free to let me know so I can start linking it up to them. It is similar to other features that are out there but I'm hoping that this is different enough.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

1st Edition               2nd Edition

Usually I know if either are just US covers or are the UK covers but this time I don't know I think these are for both although I'm pretty sure the 1st edition wasn't in the UK stores only online but I'm not 100% sure on this so please let me know if you have any ideas.

When I first saw this book it was the 1st edition cover and I really liked it but it wasn't until I got a copy that made me love the cover as I loved the metallic look of it. I really liked the background as I love the effect of it. I also really liked the font of the title as it ties in with what the title is saying.
Then I saw there was a new cover and I immediately fell in love with, I know there are a lot of people that don't like it but I'm a fan. I love the way the eyelashes look like they were painted but then bleed it looks so effective. I also love the colours around the eye/lashes and the colour of the eye is very piercing.
For me there is no contest the 2nd edition cover is my favourite but the only I do prefer on the other cover is the font of the title as I think it's more eye catching.

Let me know in the comments below your feelings of this cover change.

My Teasers:

The Vincent Boys (The Vincent Boys #1) by Abbi Glines

There he went again talking about how he felt guilty. I just wanted to go home and bury myself under the covers. This was too much to deal with right now. The guilt, the anger, the frustration, the pain-it was all going to drive me insane. - Page 125

I love this book.I wasn't sure I was going to like the actual storyline but while I'm reading it I just can't help loving it especially Beau!

Entangled (Spellbound #1) by Nikki Jefford

Maybe she was back, but for how long? Who was she to say she wouldn't die all over again? If there was one thing Gray remembered from lectures it was this: You can't cheat death. - Kindle Location 927-28 (Teaser is from a arc so may differ to final book)

When I first started this book I wasn't sure I was going to like it as it was a bit too slow and then when it did pick up it was far too confusing, however, now I'm about halfway though I am enjoying it.

Book Review: Hunting Lila (Lila #1) by Sarah Alderson

(Click image to take you to Goodreads)
Format: Paperback
Publishers: Simon & Schuster
Published: 5th August 2011
Pages: 318
Genre: YA, Paranormal Romance
Main Characters: Lila, Alex,
Date Read: 11th February - 15th February 2013
Rating Given:
 photo five.jpg

Blurb from Goodreads:

17-year-old Lila has two secrets she’s prepared to take to the grave. The first is that she can move things just by looking at them. The second is that she’s been in love with her brother’s best friend, Alex, since forever.

After a mugging exposes her unique ability, Lila decides to run to the only people she can trust—her brother and Alex. They live in Southern California where they work for a secret organisation called The Unit, and Lila discovers that the two of them are hunting down the men who murdered her mother five years before. And that they’ve found them.

In a world where nothing and no one is quite as they seem, Lila quickly realises that she is not alone—there are others out there just like her—people with special powers—and her mother’s killer is one of them…

I had wanted this book for awhile and then when I got it I seemed to forget to pick it up to read. I wish it hadn't taken me so long to read this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait to read the sequel.

The cover I don't think is eye catching enough as the story is so much more than what the cover is letting on. I do like the hint of bright colours as it makes the girl stand out which Lila does stand out.

Hunting Lila had me hooked as soon as I read the first paragraph which I did reread a couple of times to actually make sure I read it right (which I did) and it only kept getting more and more thrilling. There was quite a few twists in this book that I for one never expected which I loved as it kept me guessing right until I finished it. I loved the hint of romance in it and for once I didn't mind that it wasn't the main focus as there was a lot more things that just kept getting in the way. The bit of romance that was in was so sweet and I felt like I could feel their feelings even when they never knew about them themselves. I loved the ending as it left it on a bit of a cliffhanger but there was some answers so I felt the cliffhanger was a good way to end.

I loved the characters but I would have to say Alex is my favourite in this book as he was funny but also protective and sweet. He had a couple of scenes that had me sighing at how he came across I think I have another name to add to my book boy crushes. I liked Lila she had quite a few things to deal with that made me warm to her every time something else was thrown her way. Jack I liked although there was times when I wasn't to sure about him but for the most he was okay. There was also a lot of other characters that Lila doesn't know who she can trust but there was some good characters amongst them that I hope we get to see more of in the next book.

Overall this book kept me in suspense through out the whole book. This is definitely one of those books that I know I will read over and over again but first I need to read the second book!

Book Review: Blood Prophecy (Drake Chronicles #6) by Alyxandra Harvey

May contain spoilers from the first 5 books.
(Click image to take you to Goodreads)
Format: Paperback (arc)
Publishers: Bloomsbury
Published: 14th February 2013
Pages: 496
Genre: YA, Paranormal Romance
Main Characters: Lucy, Solange
Date Read: 1st February - 10th February 2013
Rating Given:
 photo threefive.jpg

Blurb from Goodreads:

Solange Drake will not claim her birthright; she will not be queen as vampire tradition dictates. But change always comes at a cost . . .

Possessed by a vengeful twelfth-century witch, Solange commits heinous crimes against the vampire tribes that she pledged to empower. Motives are questioned. Trust is broken. The treaty between the Drakes and the Helios-Ra is under threat. Solange must escape the folds of memory and time and fight for the fate of the royal crown - and win. Her destiny, and her heart, depends on it.

I was sent this book by the publishers over at Bloomsbury which was a nice surprise as I had really enjoyed this series so I wanted to see how it was all going to end, however, I felt a little let down by it.

I know that these UK covers are pretty much the same yet each one has a main focus which some I have liked and some I haven't and this one falls in the don't like category as it didn't look as realistic as some of the other one.

With this being the final book I was expecting it to be epic but I just felt it was lacking until very close to the end when there was a battle but even that ended abruptly. Throughout this series there has been a huge romance theme but this time around I didn't feel like there was much in that department which I really missed. I found out in this book that it was kind of based around the story of Snow White which I felt was a bit over used and then I felt stupid as it wasn't until it finished that the 7 brothers clicked! There was some really funny moments that I am used to seeing in this series but there was also some more heartbreaking moments which isn't usually in them but I didn't mind them too much as I felt they was needed to bring some closure to the story. I kind of liked the ending but I did feel like there was still some unanswered questions so I would have liked it if it went further into the future.

I have always loved the characters in this series and this was no difference. A few of the characters did have a slight change in personality. Nicholas used to be my favourite character but he wasn't in this one as much as the others and when he was he had changed but not in the good way although I get the reason behind the change. Lucy is just as funny and fierce as the other books she just never gave up. I have never really liked Solange and this book never really changed my mind but she did have more fight in her than the previous books. I loved that we had a chapter on the other girls that have had a book before but I don't think it was enough and I would have preferred to have chapters from the brothers too as I really missed them.

Overall I felt a little disappointed with a slow start but towards the end it improved.

Changing Covers #12

Hi everyone welcome to my new weekly feature which all about covers that change either in the middle of the series or even when the series had finished. (The covers will mainly be UK changes but also from the USA.) I decided to do this feature as there has been so many cover changes it's hard to keep up.
I am not sure if anyone has done this particular feature so feel free to let me know so I can start linking it up to them. It is similar to other features that are out there but I'm hoping that this is different enough.

The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda

1st edition US               1st edition UK               2nd edition UK

When I first stumbled on this book was when it was just the 1st edition from the US which looked striking enough for me to want to put it on my wish list. It wasn't until I saw UK bloggers getting a different cover that I knew we had a different cover, again! I love the way that the US cover looks like it's been torn with the colour coming from inside it looks effective I hope that is a sign of what I am to expect. At first I wasn't so sure about the 1st edition UK cover as I really liked the US cover but once I got my copy I fell in love with it.The texture on the first edition UK was one of the reasons why it grew on me and then the font also had a different texture (I am very much a book texture girl).
When I went shopping I had to look at the books which is how I came across the cover change for the UK copy. I didn't understand the cover change as it is pretty much the same as the first UK cover but with different colours and the face inside the title which I do like that effect so now I'm not to sure which I prefer as I like them all.

What's everyone else's thoughts on these book cover changes let me know in the comments below.

Everyone knows that Chelsea Knot can’t keep a secret

Until now. Because the last secret she shared turned her into a social outcast—and nearly got someone killed.

Now Chelsea has taken a vow of silence—to learn to keep her mouth shut, and to stop hurting anyone else. And if she thinks keeping secrets is hard, not speaking up when she’s ignored, ridiculed and even attacked is worse.

But there’s strength in silence, and in the new friends who are, shockingly, coming her way—people she never noticed before; a boy she might even fall for. If only her new friends can forgive what she’s done. If only she can forgive herself.

Every month Mira Ink send out a newsletter of books to be released and when I saw this one it had me intrigued so I thought I would try and get a review copy from Netgalley which I'm so pleased they accepted my request as it was a very good book.

This cover was one of the reasons why this book intrigued me as the tape across the girls mouth is very different and made me want to know what was the reasoning behind this which I think a book cover should do.

Speechless is a very different book as I haven't read anything like it which I like as books that are similar storylines are predictable but this one not so much. I love that even though the title is called Speechless and the girl doesn't speak it still has a lot to say as it tackles quite a few hard hitting topics. When I fist started it I thought I wasn't going to like it but after a few chapters it really picked up to the point I didn't want to put it down and also had me thinking about it long after I finished. There was a bit of romance in this book and for once I didn't mind that it wasn't the main focus. There was a few things that I felt could have been wrapped up at the end but apart from them I was happy with the ending.

Chelsea started off annoying and I just didn't like the way she was but when her actions turn into trouble she really does grow as a character and I really do feel like her vow helped her to do so as well as some new friends. Asha was one of her first friends who I thought was so sweet and was there for Chelsea. Sam started off not really liking her but we do find out the reason why and it is completely understandable and it also made him seem like a better person because of it. There was also a few other characters that wasn't in it that much but when they were I loved them which where Andy and Noah. Chelsea also had a different friend at the beginning called Kristen and even before anything happened I never liked her as she just wasn't what you would class as a friend.

Overall a very different book that's out there that has you thinking about how you would react in certain characters situations.

Interview with Hannah Harrington

What is a typical writing day for you?
I don’t really have a typical writing day. Sometimes I’ll write a few thousand words, sometimes it’s only a few hundred. Sometimes nothing at all. I try to go with the flow on that!
How hard was it to get your book published?  Have you got any tips for aspiring writers?
The process is different for everyone. I felt like things sort of fell into place for me, and there’s certainly an amount of luck that plays into it. My advice for aspiring writers is: Finish something. Whatever it is, don’t give up on it halfway through and start something else—work through it to the end. Have people you trust who will give you honest and constructive feedback. And look for an agent. Agents are necessary!
Who is your favourite character in Speechless?
This may come as a surprise to people, but my favorite character is Andy. I felt like he was one of the most vital characters, even if his role isn’t the biggest. He really gives Chelsea a needed dose of reality, and he doesn’t sanitize her actions. I always find it fun to write the character who doesn’t parse words and is more blunt about things. Not only is it entertaining, but I think it’s a voice that the reader needs to and wants to hear.
What you are working on now/next...
I am working on a third novel. It’s too early to go into detail about it, but it will be another contemporary young adult!

My Teasers:

Hunting Lila by Sarah Alderson

Only when the tip of the knife started to shave against the white of his eye like a scalpel about to pierce a boil, did I realise that I was the one holding it.
Or, rather, controlling it. - Page 1

This teaser is actually the first paragraph of the book and as soon as I read it I knew that, that was going to be my teaser. This book is shaping up to be a brilliant read and I can't wait to find out what is going to happen next and I'm already thinking about getting the next book!

The Vampire's Promise by Caroline B. Cooney

The vampire could set Althea free. Free from the hostile cafeteria, free from loneliness. You give me Celeste, and I will give you popularity. - Kindle Location 155-56 (Teaser may differ to final copy as this is an arc copy)

I have only just started this book but I'm not to sure that I am going to love it but I'm hoping that will change the further I get into it.

Intuition: A Bonus INTANGIBLE Short Story

Luke and his twin sister Sera have unusual abilities. Hers is a gift—she can heal with a touch of her hand. His is a curse—he can see the future but he can’t do anything about it.

On a hike up the mountain, Luke has a vision unlike any other—one that leaves him terrified. Knowing that it will come true—and that he must do everything in his power to stop it—leaves his own future uncertain.

Don't miss the first book in the series, INTANGIBLE, on sale January 2012.

I had seen this book and the first book around recently and it had some really good reviews so when I found this short Story free on Amazon I jumped at the chance but now I'm starting to wish I hadn't.

I like this cover especially the way in which there seems to be more than one image combined together as it gives a great effect. I also love the colours that have been used as they work well together.

This was a nice quick read but I felt a bit let down by it as I just couldn't get into it and found that my mind was wondering while I was supossed to be reading this. There was parts of the book that I enjoyed as them particular parts had me intrigued but then my mind would wonder again. With it being bonus story I thought that it would be more like a start of a journey but I didn't feel like that was the case.  I liked the ending as that felt like a set up for what was to come but I'm not sure it was enough for me to continue with the story.

There wasn't many characters to be introduced to in this book as the main focus was the two siblings. I felt like we got to know more about Luke's personality more than Sera's for some reason but I would have liked to have known a bit more about them but I guess that will most likely happen in the full first book rather than this short story.

Overall I was a bit disappointed with this book but there was times when it was enjoyable.

Blog Tour Stop: Interview with Liesel K. Hill

I am so pleased that I was asked to take part in this tour as I really enjoyed the book (for my review click here.) so without further ado here is my interview with the lovely Liesel

Hello Everyone! My name is Liesel K. Hill and my debut novel, Persistence of Vision, a dystopian fantasy with elements of sci-fi was released January 29th. I want to thank Kate for hosting me here. I’m so excited to be visiting!

What inspired you to write Persistence of Vision?
I’d wanted to write books for a long time in general, and I’d just finished my first full-length novel, a historical fiction. I grew up on fantasy, though, and I loved the idea of dystopia—the individual against the entity. I heard a story about a woman and her husband who were caught in a tourist trap in Vegas and lost time. My imagination just took off. I also took a literary science fiction class my final semester in college which got me thinking about collective minds. All those elements came together and, before long, Persistence of Vision was born.

How many books are you planning on for this series?

Tentatively, five. That number isn’t written in stone, but it’s what I’m shooting for.

Do you have any teasers you can share about the next book?
Um…well let’s just say we’ll be seeing more of Maggie’s brother, and learning more about the issues in Marcus and David’s pasts. We’ll also get to see some more nasty collective villains!
Which characters are your favourites? and why?

I love my characters all equally. I have a hard time choosing just one. Maggie has a lot of me in her, so I always identify with her. David is probably the most interesting character in the series, and the one that will change the most over time. And Karl is the class clown and comic relief, so it’s fun to sit around and try to come up with clever things for him to say.

(Excluding Persistence) Have you got any other books/series in the pipeline?

Yes! Several, actually. As I mentioned above, I have a historical fiction that I actually wrote prior to Persistence of Vision. It’s set in Russia in the middle ages, during the reign of Ivan the terrible. Citadels of Fire will be out in September of this year, courtesy of Jolly Fish Press, and will be the first of a trilogy. I also have a crime drama coming out next year, and am just starting work on a high fantasy series. As you can see, I keep pretty busy.

What are your favourite books and or authors?
I say this frequently, but Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series is at the top. I also think Joseph Conrad is shamefully under-read, and that Cormac McCarthy ought to be if at all possible, but then I’m very eclectic in my reading and have dozens of favorites. :D

Thanks for taking the time out to answer these questions and I'm very much looking forward to reading other books from you in the future.
Thanks so much for having me here!

Book Review: All Over You (Devoured #0.5) by Emily Snow

(Click image to take you to Goodreads)

Publishers: Indie

Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Main Characters: Lucas, Sienna

Blurb from Goodreads:

Before Sienna was devoured, before Lucas was consumed, they were all over each other . . .

Lucas Wolfe is used to getting what he wants—from everyone but one person, that is—so when he meets the wardrobe assistant hired to work his band’s newest video, he’s got to have her. From the moment Sienna first obediently whispers “Yes, Mr. Wolfe”, he knows she’s perfect for him.

Three days.

And he’ll have her stripped down and bound to his bed.

Set two years before the events of DEVOURED, ALL OVER YOU is the story of Sienna and Lucas’s first encounter.

Devoured has been on my radar for awhile now but I have yet to get a copy so when I saw this at Amzaon for free I jumped at the chance to see if I would like to continue with the series which I will be doing.

I do like this cover as I love the subtle tones with the red title making it stand out. I also love the reflection of the title as it looks really effective.

This was a very enjoyable read and had me wanting more as soon as I finished it. I couldn't get into the story to start with as there was parts that annoyed me. I could definitely feel the chemistry between Lucas and Sienna but I would have liked to have seen more of a romance but I'm sure that will come in the next book. This is my first time reading about a rock star as one of the main characters and it was a refreshing change to the clean cut male characters that I have read about and I can't wait to find more books with rock stars with their rock and roll live styles. I didn't like the way it ended but that's just because nothing got cleared up but I know this is just the set up for the actual series.

Lucas had his annoying moments but for the most part I liked his character even if he is used to getting his own way and not liking it when he doesn't. I can't wait to see his character progress in the next book with hopefully a softer side. Sienna had a more difficult time but she did seem like she will be another great female role. There was a part towards the end when I didn't really understand why she did what she did but I am hoping that will get cleared up in Devoured.

Overall this was a nice quick set up read for what I am hoping will be a great series.
