My Review:

I was given the chance to review this book and considering Nichole Chase is one of my favourite authors I jumped at the chance.

I'm not the biggest fan of the cover as for me it just doesn't work with the novel. I do like the colours that have been used but I think I would've preferred it in black and white.

As soon as I started reading this book I just new I was going to love it as right from the beginning I was hooked and I stayed hooked until the very end. I liked that it wasn't mainly focused on politics as not being from America I could've easily got confused but thankfully that wasn't the case and even when there was politics involved I understood what was going on. The relationship between Maddie and Jake was great as I loved their interactions between one another and I felt their chemistry was off the charts. One of the things that I loved most about this book was the after effects of being injured in action as I felt it was very delicately done and I even forgot until it was mentioned. I found that I felt so many emotions throughout this book as I would one minute be laughing and in the next moment I was nearly in tears. The ending ended perfectly and has made me eager to read the rest of the series.

I pretty much loved all the characters with a couple of exception but that was because of the way that they treated the other characters. When I first started reading this book I wasn't sure I was going to like Maddie or even Jake but by the end I loved them both. I felt Maddie really grew as a person throughout this book and I found myself routing for her. Jake had a lot of things that he had to get through so there was times when he wasn't the kindest person but I was able to forgive him as I felt that I was able to understand where he was coming from. I loved Jake's sisters and I hope they get their own book as I can't wait to get to know them even better. The people that really stole the show was seeing Sam and Alex from Suddenly Royal with a new addition it was great to have a bit of catch up from them as I felt it tied a few loose ends from the Suddenly Royal series.

Overall, this was an amazing read that had everything that I could've ever wished for I just hope the rest of the series is just as good.

“Let me clean up my stuff. We can take my truck.” He stood up with a grimace.
“What?” I looked at him as if he was crazy.
“You need help.” He shrugged. “I’ll help.”
“No, it’s okay. I’ll be fine.” I shook my head a little too hard and my pony tail whipped me in the eye. I grimaced and blinked back tears. “Ow!”
“Here—“ Jake pressed something to my eye. “It’s no big deal. This is what friends do, right?”
“You’re still on probation—“ I snapped and batted away his hand. That’s when I realized he had lifted his shirt to wipe away my tears, exposing a wide expanse of well-muscled abdomen.
“Then I still need to work it off.” He smiled at me and my frown deepened.
I had to stop doing stupid things around Jake Simmon. In fact I just needed to not be around Jake Simmon. Looking at him made my brain leak out my ears. Talking to him left me equally amused and tongue-tied. I couldn’t think straight around the man and he was busy chasing tail all over D.C. Yes, the last thing I needed was to spend more time with Jake while he tried to be my friend. It just muddied the waters.
“No, no, no. I’m fine.” I waved my hands to emphasize my point as if all the no’s hadn’t made it clear.
He reached toward my face again with his shirt. “Stop swatting at me or you’re going to get more dirt in your eyes. Be still, Madeline.”
I froze when he used my whole name. It was rare for anyone to use my full name and when he did, something odd happened in my stomach. He dabbed at my face while I tried to ignore the way my blood pressure rocketed with his proximity.

I was asked if I wanted to take part in a blog tour for this book and I thought it sounded like something I might be interested in and I'm glad I said yes because I adored this book...

I do like this cover because it is what it is which I always love it when the cover is relevant to the actually story. I'm not sure on the grainy overall look of the image but that's the perfectionist in me coming out plus I did photography.

As soon as I started this book I was completely head over heels for it and I never wanted to put it down. For me if I could I would give it more than five stars as it's one of those books that as soon as I finished I wanted to start it all over again which only happens to me when I have read something amazing. I can't pick anything that stands out to make me love this book it was everything that made it a stand out book for me. There was a lot of things that went on in this book that never made it a dull moment even when things was calm I didn't get bored. What made this book different to other books that I have read was we knew the secrets (even if they never knew we did) plus there's always something that pulls the couple apart towards the end but something more harrowing happened which I was kind of always expecting but maybe not to that extent. The chemistry between Emily and O'Connell was on fire from the get go but I felt that their relationship grew into something special. There was some funny moments as well as moments that made me cry but also it gave me the chills. The ending I loved just as much as the rest of the book and what's even better is that there is another book to get even more closure.

I love both of the main characters and their friends they made this book what it was. Emily was one of my favourite ever female characters as even though she went through such a traumatic past she still had some strong and even funny moments. She really did grow throughout the book and I think that was mainly down to O'Connell. Speaking of O'Connell he is definitely my favourite ever male character as he was adorable and very protective. I loved him even more when I found out he had an Irish accent. I think that the two main characters brought out the best in each other as Emily gave O'Connell the focus that he needed. Kieran was another favourite character of mine as he was so funny and I would love for him to get his own book.

Overall, an amazing read and I can't wait to read book two and anything else that R.J. Prescott may release in the future.

I received a review copy of Static in exchange for an honest review for the blog tour that I am taking part in.

This cover is just as stunning as the first book. I just love everything about this cover from the colour to the model and even the title. Static's cover is one of those covers that would always catch my attention.

I really wanted to love this book as I enjoyed the first book but for me it just didn't grab my attention. When I couldn't get into the beginning of the story I wasn't worried as that had happened with book one but when I got over halfway through I definitely got worried. There was moments during the first half that I liked and thought it was starting to pick up but it didn't stick until the last few chapters and then it really took off. I think one of the things that let Static down for me was the romance side of the story as for me it felt forced and unbelievable. The action side of the story was what kept me entertained as it was thrilling and nail biting as well as some shocking things happening. It was hard to know what to believe in with Static as what we where lead to believe in the beginning was thrown out of the window in the end which I'm still not sure I liked or not. The ending was good and has me wondering what on earth is going to happen next and whose book is it going to be.

With everything changing throughout the book it was hard to be drawn to one character. I loved Kevin in the first book which had me excited to read his story, but in the end he changed completely and even when we understand why the damage had already been done. As for some of the other characters I won't get into them as so much happens with each of them it's hard to know what to believe. I did enjoy seeing more from Annie to see what she was up to now.

Overall, I was a bit disappointed in this book but there was moments that I did enjoy and the ending was very shocking I'm looking forward to seeing what is going to happen there.

I was asked if I wanted to take part in a blog tour for Mila Gray/Sarah Alderson's new book a companion novel to Come Back To Me, and seeing as I absolutely adored it I jumped at the chance to read the next book and I wasn't disappointed...

I do like this cover as it ties in with Come Back To me, it's just that I after reading the book I don't feel like these models are fitting for Didi and Walker especially the male model as I don't feel he is big enough to be him.

This Is One Moment was an addicting book from the beginning even when it was harrowing. This book was nothing like the first book as this one was heavily war casualty related which I have never read about before, I'm still not sure it's for me but it was still beautiful and tactfully written. There was a lot of this book that broke my heart but there was a bit of humour that was able to balance it out. The thing that really bugged me about this book was that when someone was talking about someone they would switch between calling them by their last and first name, which did get confusing in the beginning especially when they would start off using their last names before throwing in their first names randomly I was wondering who on earth was they talking about, but in the end I was able to catch on with who they where talking about. The romance side of the story was a slow builder which was understandable with everything Walker had gone through. I really liked the ending as it was sweet and heart warming in a way, however, I would have loved to see what they were up too in a few years time especially Walker.

I loved all the characters in this book and even though Jessa was in it a little which was nice but I did miss seeing Kit. Didi was a fun loving character in Come Back To Me and she still was a little bit but mostly she seemed so much more grown up with a sweet and loving nature. I loved Walker even though he was mean at times it was completely understandable and he made up for it in different ways. Walker said he didn't believe in the whole love and romance of a relationship when really he was really sweet and romantic at times. I loved Sanchez he was so funny which considering what he has gone on with him it was very surprising how full of live he was. Dodds was another character that I loved and he broke my heart.

Overall, This Is One Moment isn't as breathtakingly romantic as Come Back To Me but it was a beautiful book nonetheless.

Author Bio

Mila Gray is the pen name for young adult author Sarah Alderson.

Having spent most of her life in London, Sarah quit her job in the non profit sector in 2009 and took off on a round the world trip with her husband and tutu-wearing daughter on a mission to find a new place to call home.

After almost a year spent wandering around India, Singapore, Australia and the US, they settled in Bali where Sarah now spends her days writing and trying to machete open coconuts without severing a limb. She finished her first novel Hunting Lila just before they left the UK, wrote the sequel, Losing Lila, on the beach in India, and had signed a two book deal with Simon & Schuster by the time they reached Bali. Since then she has published a further four novels and several short stories.

The contemporary thriller The Sound, was published in the US in May 2014, while Out of Control, a thriller with a focus on human trafficking, was released in May ’14 in the UK and May ’15 in the US. Her first adult novel Come Back To Me was released in the summer 2014 by Pan Macmillan in the UK and became an instant bestseller. It will be released in the US in December 2015 by Simon & Schuster. ‘Hi,’ Didi says.

‘Hi,’ I say turning my head in her direction.

‘I just wanted to see you,’ she says ‘I mean, see how you were doing.’

‘I’m OK,’ I say. Better for hearing her voice, but I can’t tell her that.

‘I just wanted to put something on the iPod,’ she says. ‘It’s something I thought you might like to listen to.’

I nod, but can’t summon the energy to ask what it is. I’m tired. Everything today seems to take monumental amounts of energy.

I hear her crossing to the bed and then opening her laptop and switching it on. A minute or so later I hear her snap the lid shut and I start trying to think of things to say to make her stay, but I can’t think of anything. My conversation skills are limited, my brain too foggy to come up with anything.

‘OK,’ she says. I’ll see you tomorrow then.’

I nod. Stay. Please stay.

She doesn’t move, for a moment I think that maybe she’s heard my silent plea and is going to come over and put her hand on my arm or on my back like she did earlier. She takes a step closer, and my whole body is suddenly tuned to her, to her presence in the room.

Her hand falls on my shoulder. Beneath the bandages I squeeze my eyes tightly shut. I will her to stay like that. Her hand feels like an anchor, something holding me, pulling me away from the hard, narrow edge.

I sit there, lips pressed together, words gathering behind them, all jumbled, nonsense, the essence of which is thank you, please stay, please don’t go.

But she doesn’t hear them, can’t hear them, and after thirty seconds her hand drops away and she’s gone.

I was given a review copy via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I do love the colourfulness of this cover but the main thing that I like about this cover is that the title takes centre stage as it tells us everything we need to know about the story. With the title being a long one if there was anything else on this book I think it would have looked over crowded.

I couldn't remember much about the premises of this story to begin with which I think was the reason why I kept wanting to put it off but when I read the book I didn't know why I kept putting it off as I really enjoyed it. I found it a really quick read as before I knew it, it was nearly finished, even though it took me a few days to actually finish it I still felt like was quick as I was enjoying it. Even though this has a depressing subject matter I still found it quite a light hearted read which I found myself laughing out loud. What I liked about this book is that even with it a book about the paranormal it still felt like it was something that is supposed to happen as it was written in a believable way. It was good that we got to know more about who Rosie was before she died as well as in the present. There was parts of the story that disappoint me especially when we found out how she died but I do feel like that, that did match up to the humour of the rest of the story so in the end I was able to forgive this more than what I thought I would have. I did love the romance side of the story but I do wish there was a bit more of it as I felt it was rushed towards the end. I loved the ending as there was a point halfway through when I wanted to give this a three star rating but the ending won me over even if it did leave me in floods of tears! I also loved the little epilogue giving us a glimpse of what happened to the other characters in the future even if some of it set me off again.

For me it was some of the characters that made me want to give it a three star rating as Rosie did annoy me at times as she was a hypocrite but there was times when I liked her especially when her humour shone through. I loved Charlie as he was such a sweetheart and he also broke my heart a little bit towards the end. I would have liked to haave seen more from Jenny and Chris as they where great when they where in the story. I also loved Rosie's Mum and again I would have liked to have seen more from her. I couldn't stand Jack and even though I've been told many times that two wrongs don't make a right I still feel like he got everything he deserved.

Kate Winter is a journalist, novelist and storyteller from the North West of Ireland who was lucky enough to grow up with no TV (though she didn't consider it a lucky break at the time) and lots of books. After graduating from University of Ulster with first class honours and the Ulster Television Award for her BA in Media Studies, Kate promptly forged a glittering career for herself in waitressing. Then one day, beside a swimming pool in Australia, Kate decided it was time to write a book. The Happy Ever Afterlife of Rosie Potter (RIP) is Kate's debut novel.
