Ascend by Amanda Hocking

This month was a hard one as I had a couple of five star books that I loved I also had a re-read but I thought I wouldn't add that one as it wouldn't be fair to the new ones that I have read.

The reason why I ended up choosing this book was because I loved everything about it, I loved it from the very start all the way up to the conclusion of the series.

It was a stunning book that I would definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't read this book or even this series. The series starts off slow but by this one I fell in love with it if ever  'save the best to last' was fitting it would be for this series.

As soon as I came across this title I knew I just had to read this book as it looks like the kind that I would enjoy and I wasn't wrong.

This book dives straight into what is going on with the lead female character Jax. With it being a short book I think it needed to start like this otherwise the action would never arrive. Even though it starts straight in there, there is no fight scenes until right until the end but it was something I expected to happen.

I loved that this was a different take on witches as in having them as the 'supposedly' bad guy I say it like that as there are some good ones including Jax. However all the witches do seem to have a dark side so I am never sure on who I am supposed to trust.

I didn't like the way the two character fell in love straight away I would have liked to have seen more of a build up so maybe the book should have been longer so it didn't feel too cheesy.

Jax was a great female character as she was strong and independent which she needed to be so that she could cope with everything that had been thrown at her including her not so nice family!

I liked Keller's character he seemed like the strong and silent type just how I like them. I would liked to have seen more of his funny side as there wasn't enough of that from him.

I absolutely hated the cliffhanger as I thought it was a stand alone novel so I thought it was a terrible ending. I have now seen that it is a series which makes the ending less of a blow and more of a normal cliffhanger that we all so love seeing at the end of what could be brilliant books.

Overall I loved that it was easy to get drawn into this world and I hope we get more from this series soon as I am waiting with suspense to what is going to happen next.

I like this book but I don't love it as in part's it's too deep and in other parts it's too shallow I don't think it has the right mix. I also don't like some of the chapters style of writing!

It started of good but then things have started to happen and it's gotten very interesting I can't wait to find out what is going to happen next.

I got this book from readitswapit which I have been trying to get a review copy for awhile now so I was really pleased that I was able to get a swap for it and I am very much looking forward to reading it.

Everneath by Brodi Ashton

This was another swap but this time from Jodie over at Goodreads. I was so pleased that I was finally able to get this book I have heard so many good things about it and again I am really looking forward to reading it.

Steve Jobs: The Man Who Thought Different by Karen Blumenthal

I received this from Bloomsbury (Ian Lamb) for review purposes and I have actually already read it and I found it very entertaining and the review should be up some time today.
