Synopsis:
Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…

“The silence was killing me.
And that's all there ever was. Silence. It was all I knew. Keep quiet. Pretend nothing had happened, that nothing was wrong. And look how well that was turning out.”

I have had this book on my kindle for over a year now and I have now finally got around to reading it now I feel like I should have started it sooner as it was a great book...

Out of all the different versions of this cover I think that this one would have to be my favourite. I must say I'm a huge fan of cover of black and white with a little bit of colour added especially when that colour is red as it makes it stand out even more.

I wasn't so sure I was going to like this book when I first started but once Cam and Avery's interaction began the book really started to pick up. There was a lot of secrets throughout this story and some was easy to guess but some kept me guessing all the way through which I kind of enjoyed trying to guess. Even through there was a lot of tears there was a lot of humour which was a great balance. I loved that there was some very strong issues tackled which was a risky move but I feel like it paid off as it was done in a very delicate and believable manner. There was so many sweet and tender moments between Avery and Cam but throughout you could tell there was a lot of chemistry even if Avery didn't want to believe what she was feeling. I absolutely loved the ending as I felt there was closure to a certain extent as no one can get over what she went through completely but enough for her to be happy which I felt was perfect for this particular story.

I did really like most of the characters but I felt that at times Avery's friends where pressuring her which I didn't like but aparrt from that they were decent friends. It was Cam's friend Ollie that I loved he was so funny and I'm looking forward to hopfully see more of him in Trust in Me seeing as that it's from Cam's point of view. Avery had the most changes in her personality as she started off quite and not very interesting but the more we got to know her and as she dealt with certain issues she really came out of her shell. Cam I loved he was so sweet but at the same time he was funny and always seemed to be there for Avery even when she kept pushing him away.

Overall a bit of a slow start but once it got going I loved this book and now I'm looking forward to reading more from this series.

“Don’t worry. I know the truth.” “The truth about what?” Cam stepped back. “You want to say yes, but you’re just not ready.” My jaw dropped. “It’s okay.” His grin turned cocky. “I’m a lot to handle, but I can assure you, you’ll have fun handling me.”

Synopsis: The Beautiful Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn't have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with her first weekend off in almost a year.Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red. As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she'll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever - even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart. In the first instalment of The Maddox Brothers series, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.

He shoved his hands into his pockets as he strolled across the parking lot like he owned the world.
Once he hopped inside Kody's truck, my stomach sank. I was in trouble. Big, disastrous, Maddox trouble.

I thought I would see if I could get Beautiful Oblivion for review but with it being from the publishers Simon & Schuster I wasn't holding my breath as I never hear back from them but this time was different and they sent me a copy which I am s happy and grateful for as I loved this book!

With the UK covers of Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster not being favourites of mine I was a bit worried about this one but thankfully I actually like the UK version as its not too different to the US version which I also love. I love that it ties in with the Beautiful Disaster books even though they are not apart of the same series they are all still the Maddox brothers books. I do love the peacock feather even if it doesn't seem to have any significance.

I may have been excited about this book but I was also a bit nervous that it wouldn't be as good as BD and WD but I needn't have worried as from the very first page to the very last page was just as good as her other two books. What I wasn't too sure about to start with was that it kind of run along the same time period as BD and WD which I thought I would have preferred it to have been after those books finished but the more I read with Travis the more I liked seeing what people from the outside was thinking about him an Abby. It was such an addictive book that I hated having to put it down I just wanted, no, NEEDED to know what was going to happen next. There was a lot of mystery behind the BIG secret but I had guessed this secret from the beginning which made me understood where Cami was coming from a lot better. There was a couple of love triangles with one of the side characters having a similar dilemma as the main characters but I didn't mind because out of those 6 particular characters I loved 5 of them. The chemistry between Cami and Trenton was smoking hot even when they wasn't together as a couple you could feel the sparks just jumping of the pages. As well as relationship dilemmas there was also a lot of family issues especially Cami's family as I hated the way in which they treated her but there was some kind moments as well. I loved the ending although I would have liked to have seen into the future like we did with Travis and Abby but with there being more books maybe we will get to see what happens next for Cami and Trenton.

I loved pretty much every character in this book with maybe one exception. Cami was a great female character as she was a strong independant woman but there was a softer side to making her feel more realistic. I knew I was going to love Trent from reading WD but I didn't think I could love him even more but thats what happened. He was similar to Travis in a lot of way but I felt he was a bit more funnier and had his own issues to deal with. We didn't really get to know much about T.J but what we did know you would think I wouldn't like him but I did and I also felt sorry for him at times too when I knew I shouldn't but I just couldn't help myself. There was a lot of great side characters especially Cami and Trent's friends everyone of them added even more greatness to this book.

Overall this was a fabulous book and I can't wait to read more from those yummy Maddox brothers!

"You need to be the one to walk away. Tell me to f**k off, and end it. I'll quit Skin Deep, you find a different bar. I can't ... you have to be the one."
He shook his head. "I am the one, Cami. I'm it for you. I know because you're it for me."

Waiting on Wednesday - The Accidental Assassin by Nichole Chase

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Here's this week's book I can't wait for...

The Accidental Assassin by Nichole Chase
Expected Publication: October 2014?
(Keeps changing but fingers crossed)

Synopsis:
Ava McKenzie is a creature of habit. Life is passing her by and she has nothing to show for it. She’s had the same job since she started college, she orders the same dish every time she goes to her favorite restaurant, and only reads books from authors she knows. There is nothing new or surprising in her life… until her best friend marries a man from London. When her newlywed friend asks her to house-sit while she honeymoons, Ava jumps at the chance. She thinks this could be the very thing she needs to shake up her life. Ava throws herself head first into her new lifestyle; she wants to try everything, go everywhere, and never get stuck in a rut again. Of course, offing a man in a car garage hadn’t been one of the things on her list to try.
Owen Walker spends every day in a new place with a new case. As one of the most renowned assassins in the world, he has his choice of marks—and he’s never failed in a mission. When a new hit takes him back to his hometown, he looks forward to spending time somewhere familiar. What he isn’t expecting is to help an attractive, confused American woman find out how she’s ended up on a hit man’s list.
As Ava and Owen dodge bullets, will they be able to escape their undeniable attraction to each other? Or will all of that chemistry blow up in a shower of hot and dangerous sparks?

I have only read two of Nichole Chases books but I have adored both of them so that makes me all the more excited when a new book of hers is about to be released.

Format: Paperback

Published: 5th September 2011

Genre: YA, Contemporary Romance, Retelling
Main Characters: Jane, Nico
Date Read: 10th June - 17th June 2014

 photo threefive.jpg

Synopsis:
Forced to drop out of an esteemed East Coast college after the sudden death of her parents, Jane Moore takes a nanny job at Thornfield Park, the estate of Nico Rathburn, a world-famous rock star on the brink of a huge comeback. Practical and independent, Jane reluctantly becomes entranced by her magnetic and brooding employer and finds herself in the midst of a forbidden romance.
But there’s a mystery at Thornfield, and Jane’s much-envied relationship with Nico is soon tested by an agonizing secret from his past. Torn between her feelings for Nico and his fateful secret, Jane must decide: Does being true to herself mean giving up on true love?
An irresistible romance interwoven with a darkly engrossing mystery, this contemporary retelling of the beloved classic Jane Eyre promises to enchant a new generation of readers.

“And then he reached toward me again, this time with both arms, as though he might wrap them around me to give me some comfort. But then he stopped, bit his lip, folded his arms, and strode away.”

I have wanted this book for a long time and finally last year I got it I just don't think it was worth the wait...

I do love the simplicity of this cover as it's quite fitting with Jane. My favourite part of this cover is the title as its big and pink making it more eye catching than the rest of the cover.

For the first time in what seems awhile I started off loving this book but by the end I wasn't a huge fan. I loved the way in which Jane's feeling for Nico grew gradually which I think make it more believable as he isn't someone you could picture Jane with. What really got on my nerves was that all of a sudden Nico loved her although he said he has always loved her it just felt a bit out of the blue and then they jump into bed with one another which I felt was out of character of Jane. As I haven't read Jane Eyre and only seen a film ages ago I didn't really know the original story but I did love this modern retake as I do love a rock star and what I really liked was that he went through some really dark times just like a lot of rock stars we all know so it made it more believable. Towards the end I did start to love it again but then it ended and I wasn't too impressed with the way it ended as I didn't feel like there was any real closure.

Like with the book I loved the characters but by the end I just felt like they wasn't realistic characters. I loved that Jane wasn't your 'classic beauty' as it made her more relatable. I felt sorry for her for most part of the book especially the way in which her family mistreated her. Nico I actually liked at the beginning but he was a bit selfish and controlling at times. Both Nico and Jane brought out the best in each other but when they where apart they was a bit annoying.

Overall it was a great start but the end just let it down for me but one things for sure I really do want to read Jane Eyre now.

“Every so often, a lightning flash would reveal us to each other, and the expression on his face - so rapt, so helpless, so utterly mine - was the most beautiful thing I ever expected to see in my life.”

I pull back an inch, my heart galloping. I'm scared. Not of Kit, but what's about to happen between us. It feels like I'm about to take a step off a cliff and into a void and I have no idea whether I'll land safely or end up smashed to pieces on some jagged rocks I can't yet see. This could be reckless, stupid, dangerous. Or it could be the best thing I ever do.

I was asked if I wanted to review this book by the lovely author Sarah Alderson (aka Mila Gray) and I am so glad she asked me to as this book was AMAZING!!!

I don't overly love the cover but I do love that it could be a scene from the book which is always a plus for me. I also like the way in which the title takes centre stage as its huge and definitely eye catching. Apart from that amazing synopsis the main reason why I wanted to read this book was because of the cover as I just knew from the look of it, it would be my kind of book and I wasn't wrong.

As soon as I started Come Back To Me I was swept away into the world in which was created and it was so addictive that I didn't want to put it down. I loved every minute of this emotional rollercoaster ride as one minute I would be laughing out loud then there was a time when I was in floods of tears as it was so sad and moving at the same time. The chemistry between Jessa and Kit was on fire it felt like I could feel what they where feeling which doesn't happen very often, only the very best books do that to me which is why this book is definitely a contender for the book of the year and very closer to my favourite ever book it was just that good. The ending was perfect as I love it when books especially stand alone books go into the future so we find out how everything is going so when I saw that the epilogue was five years later I was very excited especially after seeing what happened!

I loved both Jessa and Kit so much especially when they were together as they bring out the best in each other. Jessa I did feel sorry for at times as she did have a hard time of it at home but when shes away from her home she is such a strong, independent person and for the most part Kit brings that out in her. Kit is by far one of my favourite ever characters I loved him so much and like Jess there was times when I felt sorry for him especially the way that Jessa's Dad treats him. It was Kit that broke my heart in two as he really was an emotional wreck and it was nice to see that he cried as usually the men are emotionless but Kit sure wore his heart on his sleeve at times. I loved Riley and Didi they where great additional characters especially Riley.

Overall I may have been in floods of tears throughout the second half of the book but I still had some laugh out loud moments which was the perfect balance. I highly recommend that if you love a good New Adult, Contemporary Romance that you give this book a read as it was AMAZING!!!

'Come back to me. Promise you'll come back to me,' she whispers, her lips against mine, tears pouring down her cheeks.
I stroke that stubborn strand of hair behind her ear. 'Always,' I say.
