Teaser Tuesday #17

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!

My Teasers:

Fated by Alyson Noel

Bolting through the crowd, pushing, screaming, shoving, shouting for everyone to get out of my way. Vaguely aware of Vane calling after me-his fingers grasping, pulling me close to his chest, urging me to stop, to turn, to not be afraid.  My body sags in relief as I lift my face to meet his. Wondering how I'll ever explain my sudden bout of craziness now that everything's returned to normal again, only to gaze past his shoulder and find the crows replaced with something much worse-thousands of bloodied, severed heads hanging on spikes that fill up the square. Their gruesome mouths yawning into a terrible chorus that calls out my name-urging me to listen-to heed their warning-before its too late. One voice in particular rising above all the rest, its grisly battered face bearing an eerie resemblance to one in a crumpled old photo I know all too well. - Page 17
A good start but very confusing but things are starting to get explained so here's hoping that I will enjoy it even more.

                   Tomorrow Land by Mari Mancusi

Shoulda just stayed hidden and let her die, he berated himself. He knew as well as anyone it did no good these days to help people. Or even animals for that matter. Look what happened to Spud when he'd tried to save that puppy he found in the alley two weeks ago. Picked up the little wiggly thing and bam! Zombie gets the jump on him.
Yes, these days, it was every man-and dog-for himself. That was the only way to really survive. - Pages 20 & 21
Again this book has started of quite confusing but unlike Fated I have only read the first couple of chapters so I am hoping it will tell us a few things soon as it has the potential to be a really good book.

Both books are arcs so quotes could be different to final copy.
