Synopsis:
Keyboardist Kyle Cross may look like a bad boy with his tattoos and piercings, but he’s really the good guy who’s always stuck fixing his band’s problems and never gets the girl. His band is competing in a college Battle of the Bands, but when their bassist doesn't show, Kyle must track her down with the help of the person he least expects: his ex-girlfriend Alexis Monroe.
Kyle hasn’t seen Alexis since she dumped him in high school, and she’s dropped her preppy image for fiery red hair and a bold new attitude to match. With only hours before his band goes on stage, Kyle has to be a little bad if he wants to win both the Battle and the girl he's never gotten over. But when their old problems resurface, the good guy might just get his heart broken all over again.
A stand-alone novella that launches the Chasing The Dream series - all about finding love on reality TV!

I was given a review copy of this book via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'm in two minds about this cover as I do love the use of very little colours with only the girls hair a different colour making it stand out which I like. What I don't like is that the two models seem far too clean cut to be Kyle and Alexis.

More Than Exes wasn't a bad book and I did quite enjoy it, it was just that it didn't have any wow moments with nothing much happening. I think that maybe this would have been better if it was a full length novel I might have enjoyed it more as I felt everything was rushed and because of that it just wasn't believable. I liked that this book was about exes as I haven't read many books that had been together which is a nice change to slowly falling in love. I'm not too sure about the relationship between Alexis and Kyle because one minute he couldn't be with her as he didn't want to get hurt but in the next breath he forgot all about the hurt that she put him through with everyone seeming as though they forgave her. I kind of liked the ending as there was a happy ending but with loads of unresolved issues but with this book being only the beginning I'm sure more things will get resolved as we go along with the series.

I really don't know what to feel about the characters as they all seemed alright but with this only being a novella it wasn't long enough to get to know the characters the way in which we would a full length novel.

Overall a descent start to the series I just hope the rest of the series will be more interesting than this one was.
