Showcase Sunday #108 (Bumper Edition)

Showcase Sunday is a weekly Meme that I am taking part of. This weekly meme is hosted by Vicky over at Book, Biscuits and Tea.

I didn't do a Showcase last week as I didn't have time so I added a few with this weeks Christmas haul.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Paperback for Review
I received this a couple of weeks ago for review which I wasn't expecting but it was a nice surprise. This cover is even prettier in person as the texture of the book is like scales I just kept stroking it. Thanks Mira Ink.

Christmas Books

The first two books I got in hardback and Secret I got in paperback they are so pretty and I can't wait to read them. I also received a Amazon GC although my mum has misplaced it so I still have that to come.

Kindle Book Bought
I bought this a couple of weeks ago while it was only £1.99!

Waiting on Wednesday - Shadow Study by Maria V. Snyder

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Here's this week's book I can't wait for...

Shadow Study (Study, #4/Soul Finder, #1)
by Maria V. Snyder
Expected Publication: 24th February 2015

Synopsis:
New York Times bestselling author Maria V. Snyder wowed readers with Poison Study, the unforgettable story of poison taster Yelena. Now she's back with a new tale of intrigue.
Once, only her own life hung in the balance.
Oddly enough, when Yelena was a poison taster, her life was simpler. But she'd survived to become a vital part of the balance of power between rival countries Ixia and Sitia. Now she uses her magic to keep the peace in both lands and protect her relationship with Valek.
Suddenly, though, they are beset on all sides by those vying for power through politics and intrigue. Valek's job - and his life - are in danger. As Yelena tries to uncover the scope of these plots, she faces a new challenge: her magic is blocked. She must keep that a secret - or her enemies will discover just how vulnerable she really is - while searching for who or what is responsible for neutralizing her powers.
Yes, the days of tasting poisons were much simpler. And certainly not as dangerous,
"Doing full justice to the plot of this original and entertaining epic fantasy is impossible. Suffice it to say that the action is nonstop. The many characters leap to life, particularly Yelena, whose first-person narrative is riveting."~ RT Book Reviews on Fire Study

It's been a long while since I have read anything by Maria V. Snyder but when I did read her books I loved them so I don't know why I stopped reading them. I read the Study series so I am really excited to see Yelena and Valek's story continue but I think I will have to reread the first three before I even start this new book!
