Synopsis:Carolina Cold Fury star Garrett Samuelson never wants to miss out on a single minute of fun. Whether he’s playing hockey, hanging out with friends, or walking the red carpet with a new date on his arm, he lives every day to the fullest. When he meets Olivia Case, he sees someone who’s exactly his type—confident, sexy, smart . . . his next fling. But the more he pursues her, the more Garrett shares a side of himself that other women don’t normally get to see.
Olivia has been keeping a secret. While Garrett lives for the next thrill, Olivia’s not sure she’ll live to see the next day. She’s undergoing treatment for some serious medical issues, and she doesn’t have time for a relationship with no guarantees—especially one with a hot-as-sin womanizer who won’t take no for an answer. But as she gets to know the real Garrett, Olivia can’t help falling for him . . . hard. To reveal the truth would mean risking everything—but you can’t score without taking the tough shots.

I received a review copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I do like this cover and the fact that it ties in with the first book is always a plus for me. I don't feel like the model portrays Garrett as much as the first one did with the male lead character as for a start his hair is too short and he doesn't even cut it in the story. I also don't think he's muscular enough either.

I was a bit wary of starting this book as for me Cancer is a harrowing subject especially after losing my Uncle a couple of years ago to Cancer, but I was surprised at how uplifting the whole story actually was. I spent quite a lot of the book laughing rather the tears I thought I was going to shed, yes there was a couple of sad moments and the most heartbreaking part of the story didn't have anything to do with Cancer. I feel Sawyer did this very tough subject in a beautiful and empowering way. I loved the relationship between Garrett and Olivia as they had smoking hot chemistry but what was also nice was the way a friendship came across as well, they had great banter but they had some very sweet moments that just melted my heart. There was a couple of moments that did annoy me especially how Olivia pushed Garrett away but I guess I can understand that but I didn't understand they way in which she went about it. It was also great to see more from Alex and Sutton just to see how they where getting on. The ending was great as we got to see quite a few years into the future which was very much needed with what was said throughout the book.

There was no character that I didn't not like yes there was moments when each of them annoyed me but overall they where fab characters. Olivia was an amazingly strong character with everything she was getting thrown at her she was still able to have a smile on her face, she was for the most part a very positive person which is nice to see as most of the books I've read they're quite negative people. Garrett was your typical man-whore to begin with but what sets him apart from all those other characters that where the same is his humour as well as not having a reason why he was that way he just was. He was such a sweet guy especially how he was with Olivia and her Cancer.

Overall I loved this book maybe not as much as the first book, Alex but still enjoyable and fun.
