Q: When you step out of your USUAL genre what do you like to read? Best books in that genre?

Answer: My usual genre is Paranormal Romance which I do love but I have been trying a few other genre's to mix it up. Now that I am looking into other genre's I find the best is Contemporary Romance which I wouldn't have tried before as I used to just stick to my usual genre as I knew that I will most likely love that book. Now every Contemporary Romance book that I have read I have rated it no less than four stars!
I am finding it really hard to pick a favourite book from that genre so I am going to pick one of my first books that I read from my new genre which is...

(Click on the image to take you to goodreads)
I loved this book and the rest of this series it's just beautifully written and it tackled some serious issues. I will always be grateful to Simone Elkeles for introducing me to a brilliant new genre. I haven't read many books in this genre so if anyone has some idea's of books that I would like please let me know :)

Q: Fight! Fight! If you could have two fictional characters battle it out (preferably from books), who would they be and who do you think would win?

My two favourite series would be The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices which also have my favourite characters in them. For those of you who hasn't heard of these series TID is the prequel to TMI.
It would be great to see a fight between Jace (TMI) against Will (TID) I personally love them both and can't chose who I prefer but when it comes down to skills they are pretty much evenly matched. They have both been trained in the same kind of arts so would have very similar skills but with them being from different time periods it would be great to see who would come out on top.
I think I would go with Will coming out the victor as he seems to think he has less to lose but I think it would be a close call.
Does anyone agree? Or do you think it would be Jace that come out on top?

Q:  What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

This is such a hard question but I guess I would have to go for The Mortal Instruments. Don't get me wrong I am very excited to see this film but I am very nervous that it won't live up to the book. This book series is one of my favourites and I am scared that they will mess it up am sure they will do a great job but we have had books that was turned into films and went very wrong. With them calling it The Mortal Instruments and not City of Bones does that mean it won't be a series if that's the case it could well be a let down as we need to see it all not just condensed into one film. Also I am not too happy about Jamie Campbell Bower being cast as Jace but he isn't up on IMDB so here's hoping they will re-cast as he isn't who I pictured to play him.
I am also a bit nervous about Mockingjay being turned into a film not because I loved the book because it was actually my least favourite out of the trilogy. The reason why I'm scared about this one is that I just can't imagine how it will turn out especially with it being a very depressing film and that ending isn't the kind they like to make in films!

Q: Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?

The only time I actually look at reviews is if I can't decide what to read whether to buy them or from my TBR pile. Then I go for the one that has more good reviews and tend to stay clear of the bad reviewed books. If it's my TBR pile I always put off reading the ones that mainly get bad reviews but then sometimes I am pleasantly surprised and then other time's I agree.

The thing is about ANY book is not everyone likes them so every book out there will have a bad review as we readers all ave different opinions so we shouldn't be put off by a bad review!

Q: Do you read one book at a time or do you switch back and forth between two or more?

I try and switch between two books which is usually one book and one ebook.
Sometimes I can prefer one of the books that I'm reading so I would spend more time reading that particular book but I do try splitting my time.
It can be confusing at times especially if they are similar stories but apart from that I love reading the two as it gets more books read from my mountain of tbr books although for some reason it gets bigger rather than smaller wonder why that is ;)

Q: What is the best book you’ve read in the last month? What is the worst book you’ve read in the last month?

Best Books

Ascend by Amanda Hocking
Interrupted by Rachel Coker
I couldn't pick one favourite just yet as these are both Five star ratings and I love them equally for different reasons. I would definitely recommend anyone who hasn't read these books to do so as they do play with your emotions!
I know I keep going on about Hocking's Trylle Series but that's because I love them so much. This is the first time reading Coker but I would read more from her in the future one to look out for.

Worst
Pieces of us by Margie Gelbwasser
This book for me was just had too much bad things happen and not enough good I don't think I even smiled once. I hated most of the characters and the one I did like his chapter was written in a style I hated. Very disappointed I was expecting more!

Q: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

A: Well there are a few books that I would love to see either on the big or small screen and I am not very good at picturing actors/actresses so I might not have them in mind yet but you guys feel free to let me know who you would love to see as these characters I am open to suggestions.
The first one would be The Demon Trappers by Jana Oliver I think this would make an epic film but it would have to be done like Harry Potter and Twilight as there are four books to this series and I wouldn't want them to condense it into one film. I can just see it now with it being dark and with loads of action set in the future it has the makings of being awesome! I am not sure about who could play Riley as she needs to be a strong independent woman/girl but everyone that could play her are too old to play her so maybe a new actress for her would be the best bet. As for Beck now that's hard maybe Chris Hemsworth would be good I know he is older than Beck but he doesn't look older. He would probably need to have contacts but I think he could so pull it off well now I am getting all dreamy and can't think of anyone else ;)
Other books that I would suggest would be The Drake Chronicles by Alyxandra Harvey not sure whether it should be a film or TV show but with the vampire's being popular at the minute this one would probably do well as well.
The Vanishing Game by Kate Kae Myers would be great as a mini series as there is so much suspense and mystery it would be a great addition to these TV genres.

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favourite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

Answer: For me when I read I am always trying to find new brilliant books which I have found quite a few of this year. I don't like reading mediocre books they really annoy me so when I finish them and I know I won't read them again I will get rid of them (by swapping). I love books that I can re-read over and over again that's when you know you are onto a good thing. The only thing is I don't get to re-read books that often because I have far too many books on to TBR pile which only seems to be getting bigger. If I really fancy reading a book that I have already read I will set it to one side and read it again. This is the reason why I don't go for library books as you can't re-read them when you have the urge. I do like the Netgalley though as if I really enjoy a book I know I will end up buying it which I know I could do with Library books but these galley's are arc copies so aren't even the finished version.

Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kickass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?

A: Well for me all my favourite books has romance in them it's usually a love triangle (yes I'm addicted to them especially The Infernal Devices) but there are times when there's no triangle but the lead up to the romance can't believe I have such a soppy answer.
I also like strong female characters and an even stronger alpha male.
I have also just recently found that I love thrilling on the edge of your seat kind of books which a lot of books that I have read recently have this element (especially the book that I am reading at the minute The Vanishing Game) and have been no less than 4 stars as they are just so entertaining and there is more to the story than just the romance side.

Q: The New Year is here -- and everyone wants to know your New Years Blogging Resolution! What are you going to try to revise, revamp and redo for 2012 on your blog?

A: Well I am quite happy with what I have achieved since I started just this September but there is a few area's I would like to do to improve my blog.
  • Learn more about blogging - With me being new I don't know everything there is to know about blogging yet. I am always learning new things and I want to continue to do so in the New Year.
  • Comment more - I really need to reply more to the comments I get but because my Blogger doesn't work properly it takes up a lot of time. I also want to make this blog even better so I can get other people to comment more as that seems to be really low.
  • Giveaways - Every blog I go to seems to have or had a giveaway and it to be the way to go. I would love to give back to my lovely followers.
  • Add more content to the other pages - I seem to concentrate on book reviews but when I first started this blog it was supposed to be about the book covers and I haven't added a lot in there recently. I also did to add more book into film reviews.
  • Spend more time blogging - When I first started I was always blogging adding new things but recently I have stopped blogging as much.
  • ARCS - Try and get more arcs.

Q: When you’ve read a book, what do you do with it? (Keep it, give it away, donate it, sell it, swap it..?)

A: Well it actually depends on the book, as if I give it 3-5 stars I will keep it. Anything below that I will see if anyone wants to swap it with me. Although some of my three stars are starting to go on the swap list too.
My self is far too full I need to get rid of some of the books that I have had on my swap list for a while but, some of them are adult books and it seems most of the charity shops around here only want children's books.
Some of what I read are from Netgalley which we don't actually get to keep them which I like because then they are not taking up all the space on my computer but if I like the book I will just have to buy a hardcopy.

Q. Keeping with the Spirit of Giving this season, what book do you think EVERYONE should read and if you could, you would buy it for all of your family and friends?

A. From my favourite reads of the year so far I would have to get everyone My Love Lies Bleeding by Alyxandra Harvey. I absolutely fell in love with this book from the moment I started reading it. It is also a quick read which I am now starting to like and it isn't as heavy as some paranormal books can be.

Another book I would just have to get everybody is City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. As this series (The Mortal Instruments) so far is my all time favourite which also includes the prequel The Infernal Devices. This series is a lot heavier than my other book but it is well worth the read as they are such a rollercoaster ride.

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don’t like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!

A: Ok so this is quite a hard question and I couldn't think of any until I looked back at books that I didn't give a high rating too, so here are the most common points:
  • Annoying Character's: I just hate it when I don't like the main character's and don't care about what happens to them and in most cases I feel that the story has great potential if it wasn't for the annoying characters. I found this with the Vampire Diaries (book) I hated the characters but loved the story if the character's was more like the TV shows version then this series could have been one of my favourite's. Instead I had to stop reading the series as I just didn't relate with the character's and didn't see the point of continuing.
  • Boring Books: This mainly happens in the longer books as the author puts in a lot of content that I don't think is really needed I just think they can explain things a bit too much. Another way that is boring is when there in nothing really going on and also if something does happen it's still boring. This happened in Entangled as it was so boring I felt like nothing was going on and by the end I didn't care what happened.
  • Abrupt Endings: I don't mind a cliffhanger but when it ends randomly and feel like there should be another couple of page's it really winds me up. This has happened in a few books that all the way through the book I thought this is going to be a 4 or a 5 rating but then because of the abrupt ending I feel I just have to knock the rating down a star or two.

Q:  It's Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. so we want to know what you are Thankful for - blogging related of course! Who has helped you out along the way? What books are you thankful for reading?

A: Well first of all Happy Belated Thanksgiving to everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving as with me being from the UK I don't celebrate this holiday.
Now as for bloggers I am thankful to all my followers, thankful for them following me, thankful for any help they have given me and I am thankful for all the blogs that I visit as it helps me in some kind of way to make my blog even better.
As for the books that I am thankful for well the first and most thankful is as you may have seen in an earlier post is The Twilight Saga as this series got me back into reading in a big way and I would have never have known what I wanted to do with my life as now I know I definitely want to work in the book creating business. I am also thankful for the Harry Potter series as I think it's great that we was in the time when it was created and to be a part of a legend is awesome!
The most important that I am thankful for is my mum as she is a great support in what I want to do and without her I wouldn't be able to drive myself forward to get the kind of jobs I want and also I know I would definitely not have half the books I do today.

Q: Letter to Santa: Tell Santa what books you want for Christmas!

A: Well the main book I have asked Santa for is Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare, and I can't wait to read it. I already know Santa got me the Lee Evans autobiography which I hope I enjoy better than the other autobiographies that I have read. I also asked for Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon as I have been after it for so long. There is such a long list of books that I wanted for Christmas I didn't really know which books to ask for but I finally settled on these as I don't want to break the Sledge!

Q: Question: In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran's Day tell us about your favorite solider and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.

A: Well I would have to say my grandad even though he is no longer with us he was in the Navy back in World War 2 so he did in part help us have the world we live in today. My grandad always celebrated Poppy Day even when he was to ill to remember he would still remember the days he was in the Navy and always tell us stories. He is no longer with us as he died this year but at the grand old age of 90 so I hope that can give hope to the soldiers out there today. I will always remember my grandad but I will especially remember him on this day. (I will try and find a picture of him in his Navy outfit and post it later he was so proud of that photo)

I thought I would also put in a fictional character to be a bit lighter as Poppy Day is supposed to be a celebration. I seem to read more books with warriors but I did read a book recently called Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel and the soldier in this was called Captain Bram Griswald, I loved his character he was a zombie but he wanted to help both humans and zombies.

A. I don't have my picture's taken as I hate it I love to be behind the camera so I will share some old photo's of me and when I say old I mean really old. And some picture's that I have taken.

This is one of my favourite pictures of me and my beautiful Nan who is no longer with us :(

Another photo of me and my Nan where am a bit older but we do look like we are having fun :)

My cute Blu this is another oldish photo but I do love it!

One of my photo's although not my favourite as my favourite's had people in it that I needed permission to use.

So there you go some of my favourite pictures going through memory lane is so much fun :)

A. My first thought when I looked at this question was Mr. Darcy (I thought it would have been either Bones or Jace but I am sticking with my first choice) I would love to have dinner with him and I would serve Shepard's Pie as I can do that very well :)

Just a little side note that some blogs I was having difficulty following some blogs last week as it just wasn't working so if I have the same problem this week I am sorry in advance and I will keep checking back. It seems to be blogs that have The Cutest Blog On The Block that don't work.

A. Well I had to think long and hard about this one as I don't read any superhero comics but I do watch the TV/film shows. When I looked through them I found I didn't feel any would be my alter-ego so I went on the outfits :)
My favourite outfit has to be Storm's (black and white is so me even if it is technically silver I don't mind). I would love to have her abilities as well as I hate the hot weather and so I would be able to cool myself down by changing the weather!

This weeks question:
Q.If you could have characters from a particular book meet and form an epic storyline with characters from a particular TV series, which would you choose and why?

A: This is so hard as I love watching TV and reading books. I guess I would choose Harry Potter (Books) and Charmed (TV) with a bit of Merlin (TV) thrown in for good measure. Could you imagine the magic and the chaos! Harry would definitely work well with Merlin. Morgana and Lord Voldemort could even join forces. Now that's as show I could watch :)
